Trees | Stone Fruit

NOTICE

We choose to no longer supply or sell container-grown peach trees, plum trees, or apricot trees. We strongly believe in preserving all life and working with nature, instead of trying to fight it. Nursery-grown stone fruit trees are now required by the State of California to be sprayed and treated with specific Neonicotinoid insecticide products. Most of the available “choices” of of these deadly neurotoxin products are only available from Bayer-Monsanto Corporation. This approach of killing everything is in response to a threat of the Asian citrus psyllid and Huanglongbing, also known as HLB or citrus greening disease.

Neonicotinoid use has been linked in a range of studies to adverse ecological effects, including honeybee colony collapse disorder (CCD) and loss of birds due to a reduction in insect populations but of course with big corporations, the findings have been conflicting, and thus controversial. In 2013, the European Union and other non-EU countries restricted the use of certain neonicotinoids. Recently, the EU banned the three main neonicotinoids (clothianidin, imidacloprid and thiamethoxam) for all outdoor uses. Several states in the United States have also restricted usage of neonicotinoids out of concern for pollinators and bees.

Fruit trees are a fun and adventurous way to add color and function to any landscape. Citrus, stone fruit (peaches, plums, apricots), apples, cherimoya, pomegranate....

So many to choose from! Working with one specimen or a whole grove, we recommend using organic materials for long term benefits! Make sure you have the right blend of nutrients, specific to the plant, soil type, and condition!

We work with the best suppliers of organic nutrients to create the correct blend for your plants and trees.

Roses should only be grown organically since they are one of the best medicinal and culinary herbs in the world. When they are loaded with toxic pesticides and other chemicals, that use is gone, or at least it should be. Drinking rose hip tea or using rose petals in teas or salads sprayed with synthetic poisons is a really bad idea. Being able to allow your nose to touch a rose to enjoy the texture and fragrance is reason enough to grow roses. Toxic chemicals such as pyrethroids, pyrethrum, copper sulfate, Orthene, Kelthane, Diazinon, Dursban, Sevin, Bayleton, Daconyl or any other heavy metal or neurotoxin products. For best results with roses, choose the best program that will make your rose growing successful and enjoyable.

Our philosophy: Create a healthy balance in nature through healthy soil (living compost) and insect and plant diversity—working with Mother Nature instead of fighting her.

“In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.”

“The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.”

“Between every two pines is a doorway to a new world.”
